A woman who never knows about the contents of Islam (or is given a warped presentation of it) might enter paradise on the mercy of God. Some scholars say this category of people will be tested in the afterlife. Other opinions as well.

Lots of people have the impression that this behavior is condoned in Islam. Religion probably doesn't feature too much in their lives considering they left Muslim countries to live amongst atheists/Christians.
