I was on the internets in 86 (gopher). It started in the late 60s.

E: Also, I might have been one of the few elite first assholes that came up with spam mail. I am pretty sure it was me that brought the entire Temple University network to a halt due to my email spamming. All I had to do is apologize and everything was golden. Ugh.

As a kid, I have a distinct memory of the first time I used my father's shit 2400 Baud modem to connect to a local BBS and saw the ASCII text fill up the screen.

Then I recognized that BBSs sucked. At least the ones I connected to.

Temple University was founded in 1884 by Russell Conwell, a Yale-educated Boston lawyer, orator, and ordained Baptist minister, who had served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Conwell came to Pennsylvania in 1882 to lead the Grace Baptist Church while he began tutoring working class citizens late at night to accommodate their work schedules. These students, later dubbed "night owls," were taught in the basement of Conwell's Baptist Temple

Every university campus these days is populated with every demographic with White men being a small minority and jews heavily over-represented. It's not just Temple.

Your point is well made, that it was established by a White Christian for other White Christians. That's surely changed in the last several decades, as it has with all universities. I would guess that the percentage of jews in the faculty and student body has only increased since you were there.

Google tells me it is a Commodore 128, which is apparently the bastard step-child of the Commodore 64. It could be an Amiga 500 or Amiga 1200. Guy in picture is covering the air vents, a no-no.
