Anyone who isn't white and male should never be given any position of power under any circumstances. She straight up sacrificed her own people for the sake of what amounted to a popular trend. It's already too late, and the San Fran police are going have have go to war with the criminals who have been allowed to build up their power. There's also going to be a lot of lost trust between the people and their government, and that's never going to come back, never. You cant undo the damage that was already done, best you could do is apologize and try to compensate people for what they had gone through, but in the end, all you got is the hope people would forgive. Those who would forgive are fools to do so.

This is why we need to bring back tar and feathering and other such punishments. Politicians don’t fear their constituents anymore. Checks and Balances.
Politicians have zero reason to fear their constituents anymore. The same people that elected them will insure they are not recalled (Commissar Newsom comes to mind), and are reelected again and again...Pelosi, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, Feinstein and others are prime examples.
