I agree. It's already dangerous enough to rehab an aggressive dog as an adult (though it should be put down after it attacks a human)

But putting a child there? They will see it as the easiest prey. In the wild animals always attack the cubs. You are just putting temptation in front of it.

My Mom had a dog (not a shitbull, but it was a bulldog) that attacked several people and some rescue organization took it in. I don't know what they did with it, but they claimed they weren't going to put it down. I would have.

Could be. This was last year; not when I was a kid. I'm 35 I don't think she'd lie to save my feelings, but it's possible the adoption agency put it down. They don't know, supposedly.

It was pretty sad. The dog was always kind of a dick, but he wasn't a menace. Then he injured himself and had to have surgery, and afterwards he got mean. Somehow it messed him up. They hired a trainer and everything, and the trainer said he just had to go away basically.

We had a dog rescue nutter say that to us when we re-homed my husband's pitbull when I was pregnant with our first. The dog was small for her size and slept 90% of the time, but could still dart to action and kill a snake in about 10 seconds.

Yet we were the heartless ones for not wanting that around a newborn.

These dogs have issue even when raised in a “good” home.

The average person doesn’t need this dog breed. There are breeds that do their job better and more reliably. Trash shouldn’t be allowed to own anything that breathes.

Same goes for labs and terriers. I have scars from a dalmatian. I've been attacked by all kinds of dog breeds.

I wish you could see the stark contrast of the pitbull in my yard, and the lab mixes in my neighbors yard. My dog sits at the fence and watches as the neighbor dogs freak out and bite at the chain. Her sitting there gets them riled up to the point that they start fighting each other. I've watched her dogs literally kill each other. That was the only time my pitbull got agressive... when she saw them ripping another dog apart.

That's not true. Labradors are not nearly as prone to violence as pitbulls. Poodles are kind of assholes, but they're also not pitbulls. Breed is a real thing. Some dogs are smart, some are stupid, some are fast, some are not so fast. Etc.

Back in 1986 I shot a pit bull that was running stray, I put 3rnds of 158grn JHP .357 mag into it's head, the 1st rnd just in front of the left ear from about 10ft away, the dog never dropped and I let loose with 2 more rnds to the head as it's scrambling to regain itself. The fucking thing takes off into the bush and it took all day to track it due to the diminishing blood trail, it stopped bleeding. I finally found the fucking mutt and damn if it didn't take another 4rnds to finally drop that fucking dog, 7rnds total and it was the last rnd to the heart as that fucking beast was lunging at me with it's jaw hanging detached from it's skull that shut it down for good. That entire episode rattled me, I've dropped bears with 3rnds and moose with 1, I've never seen such an unstoppable animal, they should be driven into extinction.

I just knocked off a stray cat last week...my total lifetime cull, beginning at age 10, would be in the range of a couple dozen mutts, too many cats to have made notes, if I claimed 100 I might be close. Don't ask me how many coons I've taken out because I kill those bastards almost every 3rd night in fact just before snowfall in October I got 5.

I saw a nigger take 5 rnds from a Glock .40, all upper torso left side and the fucker lived...I told him that he was lucky to get hit with "ball" ammo and not hollow point...but that fucking dog was a curse from hell, I never ever would have believed that any animal could take the rnds that beast did...and NO, I did not enjoy whacking that mutt to the extent that it took but it dragged a kid off his bike unprovoked, it had to go.
