How does this work with the 5th amendment and self incrimination? So not only are you guilty of stealing, you're also guilty of not telling on yourself???

Also, the IRS treats EVERYTHING as income. If you get a free hooker from your mob boss, that's imputed income. If you rape a woman... fair market value?

A criminal would be required to tell their life story every year, just like we are.

You can still incriminate yourself by admitting to things before you actually invoke your rights.

Actually no. One of the changes this year is you can no longer write off thefts for a business. Its in the same document:

edit: My reading comprehension sucks. The itemized deduction for theft of items used by employees is gone and rolled into something else. You can still claim income-producing item theft. Not sure about non-income producing item theft.
