Just a thought, why don't all Canadians that support the truckers go to the bank, take out all their money, quit going to work and just sit at home doing nothing until the mandates are lifted?

Because your money is not in the bank, it's just an IOU in their computer systems somewhere. They take your money and loan it to someone else at some god awful rate and then turn and and give you a tiny fraction of a percent on your "stored" money. Some did try however, and they broke the system and the banks closed.

That's just semantics, unless there's a bank run (which is a lot less likely nowadays due to deposit insurance) you can pull out all your money.

A lot of them are taking the money out. The banks went offline yesterday because of it. You can't take money out if the bank machine isn't working or the teller tells you that the computer system is not working that day. Also - most banks put a limit on how much you can take out of your bank machine in one day. That is usually $1,000. So if you want to take out larger amounts (as many are) the bank tells you they need 3 days or 7 days to have the actual cash delivered to them to give it to you. Here we are on day 2 only of the bank run. Things may get more interesting soon. As for a general strike --- it is difficult for many different reasons. Maybe easier to do if the banks freeze up because of a bank run.

Or because it's all locked up in 401k/IRA/529 assets, or in a taxable trading account where selling would incur a huge tax liability, or held in business capital. Most people don't keep $100k cash in the bank. Net worth 10m+, maybe. But then you don't get that kind of money by letting it sit in a bank.
