I've started using https://metager.org/ and it's ok.

Startpage sucks. Tracking, owned by an advertising company.

swisscows is fucking shit: every page shows the same results

https://metager.org/ is the best of a bad bunch . . . and it's fine.

Find an instance of searx or searxng. It is a metasearch engine, so you're still getting results from google, bing, ddg...etc, but it strips all your personal details from the search query and returns just the search results. You can also self-host, but it takes some time to setup.
