You fucking bet they are. Look at Russia starting to invade Ukraine right now. You would think China would simultaneously invade Taiwan. Would put NATO in more of a sticky situation. China has a large military but they are poorly trained and their guns and missiles and planes are Made In China, other than their Russian hardware.

Glad that you mentioned this because I think that it's probably coming soon. I noticed a while back that Taiwan Semiconductor (TSMC) had partnered with Sony, and are constructing a new chip manufacturing plant in Japan. I wondered if it's them gearing up and getting their engineers out of Taiwan while also being deeper in the Japanese umbrella.
Just speculation but to me it seems likely.

I also wonder how the Chinese feel about that. TSMC is one of the best reasons to take Taiwan. TSMC is making so many great chips right now. Many automotive chips and I think all AMD chips. That's MASSIVE. The Ryzen chips from AMD are the shit.

The fuck? Nato is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The north Atlantic is nowhere near Taiwan. Taiwan isn't in Nato and none of the countries give a shit about Taiwan since they're all halfway across the world.

Russia is not pulling away any strategic reserves that would interfere with China.

Well, I think the overly conservative movements of China is because the leadership understands their legitimacy is tenuous at best. Which I guess is a form of cowardice. But the alternative would be a leader that is akin to a tyrant.

The Mandarin character for yellow, 黄 (huáng in pinyin) was described to me as a stylized hieroglyphic of a strong, ideal Chinese man because they associated yellow with their ideal physical form.
