1. What the fuck did they think they were signing up for? A holiday camp? No other soldiers is allowed to leave just because the going gets tough. That's called desertion. Why should they be allowed to.

2. From what I heard the contract was in Ukranian and said they were being taken on for "6 years or the duration of the conflict," but then whenever they were asked they were told "oh yeah, but if you don't like it you can just leave whenever." Imagine being retarded enough to trust that.

It's lining up with what other volunteers over on reddit are saying. One of them escaped with help from the red cross, others are stuck there.

Do we really need much evidence to accept this though? It's not an extraordinary claim, it's common sense. If someone signs up to fight in a war, then they get cold feet the moment bombs stop dropping, they can't just be allowed to run away. No military allows that. Requiring them to stay and fight is a perfectly normal thing to do.
