If the earth was perfectly round that would work.

There are different contexts for defining the "first" day of the week. In business, it's Monday. In calendry in the West, it's Sunday. For kikes, the week starts Friday evening.

Well... yes. And this is where the debate rages. Some calendars, ones designed for business, minimize the impact of the two weekdays. I can see how people would mistakenly believe that Monday is the first day.

Edit: Fuck you, fight me.

It's clearly today, everyday is a fresh start to make the right decisions and to not be held down by past mistakes.

"When the seven-day week which named the days was introduced following the introduction of the Julian calendar, the eight-day week coexisted with the seven day week until Emperor Constantine officially adoped the seven-day week in 321 A.D. Sunday was the first day of the seven-day week and Saturday was the last. "

An easy reply is to say prove that the day of the week numbering of the Bible (assuming this is the gist of the debate) has been maintained over the millennia and all the calendar changes.

Doesn't really matter what day we think it is if it doesn't line up with the day that started it, right?

And then ask how the measure of calendar days survived when Joshua commanded the Sun to stand still "about a whole day". What happened from that? Since it never set, did that mean the day never ended? or was the day counted anyway even though the sun never set and rose?

sunday. There was a push in rome to make it monday and to rename monday after one of the caesars but that didn't make it. This push did succeed and maintains as the workweek starting monday.

Sunday is the 1st day and Saturday is the 7th. Most calendars reflect this.

They're asking what the first day of the week is. Not the first day of the weak.

You set yourself up for that one.

[ - ] FluffyBunnySlippers 1 point 3.1 yearsMar 20, 2022 22:32:51 ago (+1/-0)

Ok, I even had to upvoat that one

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 0 points 3.1 yearsMar 20, 2022 13:06:58 ago (+0/-0)

Don't care.

[ - ] Kozel -1 points 3.1 yearsMar 20, 2022 17:39:06 ago (+0/-1)

Monday. And there's 24 hours in a day not 12/12.
