The figures for birth control claim to include people who use it properly, but they tend to include everyone. So you can do a lot better than the odds, but there's always a chance.

One advantage of male birth control is I'm pretty sure men would take it. Women are terrible about taking their birth control, even though it's retardedly simple. Of course, I guess stats include women who only claim to not to want to get pregnant but actually do.
