Put it this way...bullets begin to transform the moment they exit the barrel and progressively transform with distance so upon impact anything that forms the meplat of the bullet tip is going to drive itself into the sectional density of the projectile mass thus contributing to desired disfiguration of the bullet...in addition the polymer does enhance the ballistic coefficient given the polymer reduces atmospheric resistance better than alloy tips...mind you the performance differential, trajectory wise, wouldn't be noticed unless shooting long distance and comparing the amount of "hold over" required to effectively reach the target and the "minute of angle" grouping...BUT...within a distance of 75 yards it doesn't matter what you hit a coon with.
