Manager just told us: masks may be coming back

we had a meeting this morning, and the manager made the comment that executives are considering whether to re-instate masking because "cases are going up".
you can bet your favorite undies that if the media starts parroting "cases! cases! cases!", that 50% + of the population will obediently fall in line and put masks on and queue up for the booster.

...and masks never stopped being 'required' at my office, so I am not going back. And I'm looking for another remote job so that I can get two paychecks instead of just one, at least for awhile.

Its never the manager. Its a top-down decision based solely on how the owners see this. If he is a hypocondriac, you bet your ass he is just waiting for the pressure to build up to exert control freakish behaviour.

Ive seen cases of managers being fired because they claimed it was directors pushing this madness, when it was their own decision being applied.

And the other 6% were likely either elderly, incredibly young, or had hidden/unknown conditions. An otherwise healthy person should not die of the flu.

They'll kvetch endlessly about 50,000 new "cases" (i.e. positive test results from worthless tests), use it as justification for more draconian bullshit, and then cancel anyone who dares point out that of those 50,000 "cases", only 100 showed symptoms, and 3 were hospitalized (for unrelated reasons), for "spreading dangerous disinformation" and remind all the NPCs that whoever pointed out the facts "is not a doctor and you shouldn't listen to them, goy."

Tell him that you understand but the company will be liable now esp with the data available showing the negative health effects of masking. But you're a team player so if he's willing to risk it so are you

For the life of me (and you)...I'll never understand the antipathy of the bulk of the population toward wearing masks.I like wearing my mask while shopping but I'll acknowledge I'm in a very small minority. How could so many people be so wrong?

it is pretty blue, but the black population is pretty low, and we have a really conservative church/school that we like a lot. also, the job is really cool. medical device company that makes really cool products - can't get that out in the country.
