I once saw a man spend 45 minutes trying to pull out a plastic straw from a leatherback turtle's nostrils. There was blood everywhere and it was in the middle of the ocean, not in a vet clinic.

Those new cardboard straws that McDonald’s has now are ridiculous. Unless you speed drink, the fucking thing degrades in like under 15 minutes and then the bottom is soggy and the straw no longer works. The fucking straw is the smallest unit of plastic next to the cups. If they returned to the old cardboard/wax cups most of us grew up with, they’d be saving the environment much more.
