our priest recommended purchasing 6 months of food

he's a total great reset believer, and is getting a bit apocalyptic in his sermons.
i've known him for over 20 years, and he's not easily swayed by the culture or media.
food isn't too high right now, so go out and buy stuff that you would normally use. if this all comes to naught, then at least you have food you will still use :)

This is a good thing to do even in good times. Mormons used to really encourage their members to have a years supply of food. Some old school survival manuals actually recommend bartering with Mormons and even raiding them as a last resort. Don't believe many do that as much any more.

Say what you want, but I can get a gallon of water from my dehydrated water, just add a one cup of water for every cup of water you want to rehydrate.

Powdered water is good if you add a bit of salt to it after rehydrating it. Think of it as corn starch but it's water.

Better safe than sorry, your priest at least knows what's going on (I assume he's a trad priest). Any good priest would make this recommendation, especially based on social, political, economical, and Catholic prophecy issues that are all pointing at the same inevitable consequence coming down the pike.

Most Novus Ordo priests are too steeped in luxury and sodomy to make these kinds of observations from the pulpit, at least traditional priests are. Many have been saying this for over 2 decades. Get prepared. God will not be mocked.

Fully aware this is intentional but do you know people? Right now they have the foodstamps gravy train to carry them through but I'm starting to hear rumblings from the foodstamps group.

I'm an optimist but boy are they pushing.

Plus I think that lentils post from Bloomberg opinion had a hidden message. Like they were calling people out.

Because lentils isn't a common American food there were other options but it sounds like the Diogenes thing . Are they mocking us to crawl before the king? Fuck them. I'd rather eat lentils.

I dont think the first world will have a starvation problem. Its going to be 2nd and 3rd world countries that rely on imports to feed their people. So basically there are going to be some seriously hungry africans, and middle eastern people.

I understand where you are coming from, but I am 50/50 on this. If the shortages do come to pass, then I think 3rd world will have serious problems, but with all the trickery with burning of processing plants and culling of chickens and cattle etc., I am just a little worried about USA as well. Never hurts to have lots of canned food on hand, so if it comes to pass, then you would be ok, if not, then you save a few trips to the store later on ;)

Seconded for Mountain House, I take those meals with me on backpacking trips, and they're pretty dang good for a dehydrated meal!

coming from the land, we always have food stored, plus spares for things. Fortunately we have never needed it. Your priest is correct if nothing happens then you have the food. I can still remember tales of the great depression. In nearly all of the stories it revolved around shortages of some kind or another. But if you had food you survived ok. Let the others laugh and scoff. If the SHTF at least you can reduce some of the pain
