The only real bonus being alive now offers is indoor plumbing, light bulbs, surgery, an assortment of media and food, a tainted version of the internet, and the slim possibility of living long enough for a benevolent super AI to straighten out the mess we find ourselves in. That's not necessarily true. Even back then there were cases of women being disloyal and getting pregnant by other men. Hell this goes back thousands of years to the story of Joseph and potiphur's wife. Additionally, disease was rampant back then as was alcoholism. Many homes were abusive to children and many people lived in poverty working in horrid conditions at factories.
I believe post war America all the way up till about 1978 was the peak to be perfectly honest.
