I had three of these on my list of "must see" movies in a thread recently. I left off The Matrix because the Watchowski BROTHERS are a fucking disgrace. But one of the great things about creation is that once a concept has been birthed, even its own creator can't truly destroy it. The proceeding cash grab sequels diminished the IP but not the film's core concept.

Fun story, The Matrix was the first pirated movie I ever watched. A big fat smelly nerd I used to know downloaded some advance copy off the ancient internet, and I watched the film a week before it hit theaters. It was missing some of the soundtrack like in the club scene at the beginning. People were just dancing to nothing.

Matrix was such a good story even the wachowski homos didn't understand its meaning and accidentally made a good story. They later tried to rescind the story once everyone figured out the parable.

It was literally plagiarism. They didn't even write it.
