Interesting side note: I've read that dachshunds were bred for entering badger tunnels to fight and kill badgers. I would live to see that.

I'd like to see that too. That thing looked like it could take most dachshunds I've seen. Lol. It would be cool to see though. It cracks me up how many speciality breeds of "foo foo" type dogs were actually bred specifically to hunt/fight some other particular animal. Like chihuahuas too. Lol. Now they're all looked at as pussies, but back in the day they were ballsy little mini warriors, and that warrior blood/spirit is still in there somewhere and you can still see glimpses of it sometimes. Lol

We had several male dachshunds when I was young, they were assholes. I currently have a female poodle dachshund mix. She is an absolute sweatheart unless you are a squirrel.

We have 4 here ranging for 4yrs to almost 9yrs.
They take no shit from the dogs,they are worthless IN HUMANITY.
In the wild, they do serve well.
They ARENT destructive like ground squirrels and P-Dogs.
Some burroughs last 2-3yrs unless there has been a birthing inside.
They do lock in if they feel they have a solid bite,they shake and roll like a gator when fully engaged.
No, you can't train them, they tolerate you or they don't.
We have three massive porcupines upwards of 40lbs that are equally gnarley when agitated.
Dont fuck with shit that doesnt have a FUCK WITH ME label visible.
