A while back we were joking around and my Wife and kids’ babysitter said they’d gang up and kick my ass. I told them “Hey wait a minute: That’s not fair!” And they were like “Yeah that’s right, so what?” And I said okay let’s make it fair and tie one of my arms behind my back. The babysitter, realizing my confidence, was like “Haha ya nope I’m out”. Wife laughed but demurely went back to making snacks for the kids.

Several times since, when Wife has bugged me, I’ve said “Hey, don’t make me tie one of my arms behind my back.” I’ve said it smiling, but she knows exactly what I’m referring to and always backs down.

My wife is tall, and strong for a gal. Back when we were dating she was a fan of boxing workouts. She took me to the gym once and we traded hitting pads the other was holding. She went first and really went for hit. The gal can punch. When it was my turn she started freaking out and backing up and telling me to stop. I was like “What?” She asked how hard I was going. I told her “about half power.” She was like “No shit? Okay hit me hard.” I told her I wouldn’t unless she held the heavy bag in front of her. When she agreed and was ready I let one go. My punch seemed to jar her significantly and she backed off the bag. We traded and she did some more punching and the. We called it quits. She never wanted to do that with me again.

Gals really have no comprehension of what it’s like to be strong. I do stuff all the time, even 15 years later, what still impresses the hell out of her. To me it’s no big deal when I lift a table or something. But to her it’s the world.

Fake

As per historical accounts re the gladiatorial games, it is written that during an intermission it was customary to provide the mob with a side show. One of these side shows involved placing a nigger in a hole with sand up to it's neck to which à lion was released with the expectation that it would maul the nigger's head and feast upon the cranial contents. According to details, as the ecstatic crowd cheered on the lion, the sweating nigger was trying desperately to extricate itself from the hole as the lion circled in closer for the kill...when the lion got within close proximity the nigger bit the lion causing it to roar out in pain and the mob became agitated, to the point where spectators screamed out "fight fair nigger".

Fake and gay

I watched a doc a few months ago that talked about this. There were paid specialists who trained people for these teials by combat. Usually former men at arms. Really interresting doc.
