Something weird is happening with internet today

submitted by Conspirologist to AskGoats 2.6 yearsSep 20, 2022 07:54:52 ago (+8/-3)     (AskGoats)

I have noticed today that one of my old posts is showing now like new, with comments also new. This happened here on Talk and another site too. Anybody knows how it's possible?

I've been seeing weird stuff for weeks. Youtube account suddenly and inexplicably banned and all history from 2015 to this summer deleted but the rest can still be seen.

thats not internet being wonky, thats the services you are members of being wonky, or as Ronin pointed out, an inability to master a web browser

How do you even know what's marked as new and what's not? The only indicator I see is if I scroll through all messages. And it fucked up so long ago that I can't find the unread ones and it always shows I have unread messages

You've been found out. It's too late.

Do you own a gun?

Somehow your history entry for that URL is no longer stored in your browser. You deleted the history entry, it got corrupted, there is a data limit on your history and it is ditching the oldest entries, or some other oddity occurred.

You can test this by clicking on any link, go immediately to your browser history, remove the entry, then look at the link again. It will look like you never clicked it.
