Starship troopers was right. Violence does solve everything.

Racism and racial tensions can be eliminated entirely by killing off all but one race. Religious intolerance by removing all but one religion. etc. (in starship troopers that race was white, and that religion was atheism)

Violence fills in the deficiencies of discussion, when in a debate all manner of rhetorical tricks can be invoked to win the argument without having any of the evidence or logic to do so, if you could at some point be permitted to punch your opponent in the face - or otherwise inflict a physical punishment upon them - for each act of philosophical malpractice: dishonesty, deception, fallacy, appeal to bias, etc. then we could easily see a great improvement in the quality of such exchanges.

We need to reintroduce the intentional infliction of pain, injury, or death into the structure of our society, these are unpleasant things, but it is precisely because of their unpleasantness that they make civilization function in a better capacity.
A fine or other non-violent punishment would also do, but just talking shit needs to have tangible negative consequences if the act of debate is to be of any use in resolving conflicts, and corporeal punishments tend to be the most cathartic, impactful, and effective in sending messages.
