I haven’t even seen a full movie of saw. ‘Gore’ isn’t ‘scary’ it’s just you have something wrong with you if you like it or even watch it past a certain point.

I agree. I enjoy a good psychological thriller, or even a well-made "scary movie" like the first Scream or The Ring. Movies that are just people getting tortured in various ways are gross.

It's a whole genre, torture porn. Hostel, Human Centipede, Saw are all examples. The first Saw had a good story as well, but the rest just took the gore and left the rest.

I'm ok with violence and gore as long as it's "within reason." E.g. a movie depicting the horrors of war, or about gang violence where the director's trying to depict scenes of shootouts and fights in a realistic manner. Shit like this however can get fucked. In this type of movie it's far more often than not that the characters getting brutally tortured and killed will be those who do not deserve it. You genuinely have to be some sort of psychopath if you enjoy watching innocent people suffer, even if it is works of fiction.

It's so bizarre to me that the same people that bitch and cry and moan about the plethora of humanitarian crises all over the world are the ones that want to subject themselves to the most shocking simulated gore and violence. Simulations of violence have inundated society on every level through the use of motion picture and interactive video game technology. If you even point out that the violence is excessive people berate you as if there is something wrong with you for not being able to tolerate extreme depictions of violence. But these same people that are so adamant about depictions of simulated violence being totally above board "indulgences" will flip out if any kind of racism is depicted. Anything goes as long as you don't say nigger. You can depict the most horrible, awful violence but if someone says nigger the sky will fall down. It is absolutely bizarre.

Probably one of those movies that won’t live up to the hype.
I miss the trailers of old that barely told you what the movie is about. Now they almost show the ending.
