Whoa. Blast from the past. Was that original vote, poal, or reddit? Reddit had i_raep_cats I think... so the shark guy may have been oldvoat. Or I may have been rather drunk at the time.
Was that you?
A shark is fine, too. At least it's better than mermaids
Damn. That's really sad. I remember his post about his pet eft dying but I never saw the comment about his spouse. @ifuckdolphinseverday if you're still around, give us a holler
I’m not a rocket surgeon but I seems to me that those things and also flesh eating bacteria is a result of a bad immune system. That’s shit has all been in the water for ever.
OP probably lucked out. I've been troubled by fungal infections my whole life and had no luck soaking in fresh or salt water in the great outdoors.
However I recently tried some 10% iodine solution -- AKA Betadine -- on toenail fungus and it worked like a charm. Iodine is my majik bullet from now on.
The stuff that was invented from 1910-1950 is what propelled us to the hellscape we are in. Prior to that people would just die of infections 90% of the time. I mean you could stub you toe and choke off three weeks later. It's wild.
Edited as fuck*: Damn I looked it up, 1811. I stand corrected on that, they used to use it to treat STDs.
Still my go to over many treatments for skin issues also. So here here.
Hmm. Could be. Do you have other allergies or an autoimmune illness. Do these conditions run in your family?
I had a dandruff-like dermatitis on my scalp and sometimes face for years which was effectively managed with a dandruff shampoo. That problem is associated with a malessezia overgrowth which some people seem to be more sensitive to. I realized the problem was exacerbated by my SSRI antidepressant and it went away when I stopped the medication. Consider any drugs your taking. Tobacco. Caffeine. Supplements.
I also used to get this pimply like eczema on my face as a kid and Im sure it was from some sort of allergy but Im really not sure if it was food or pollen or what. It seemed to get better in the sun and 1% hydrocortizone cream helped some. I mostly outgrew it. Look at your diet. Could be food or mold or pollen. Some allergens are in both food and pollen.
If you’re not taken vitamins, consider adding some vitamins. If you already take some, consider stopping for a period to see if the rash goes away. You could try supplementing with vit D, vit E, omega 3/fish oil, vit A, zinc, MSM/sulfur supplement or cream, a probiotic, B complex supplement or melatonin. I would try a few of those. You could try a few different otc oral antihistimines as well.
It could be rosacea on the face which responds well to topical application of ivermectin. Its caused by a sensitivity to certain skin mites.
It also could be psoriasis which is an autoimmune illness. They would probably prescribe an immune suppressant in that case. It could be this if you have family members with other autoimmune illnesses.
You might have to bite the bullet and go to the dermatologist. They could do a CBC or maybe a skin prick test.
There could be more than one thing going on. Atopy is a condition in which your body produces too much IgE in response to harmless substances, so you could be reacting to more than one thing.
Do your research, examine your diet/routine, try some of those supplements. Change to a hypoallergenic soap and maybe switch your laundry detergent.
Pets could be a trigger. I got this weird rash from my roommate’s dog’s flea collar. It had some chemical on it.
Ive got weird allergies and an autoimmune disorder. My own fucking body is always trying to kill me somehow. These problems tend to lessen with age. Good luck.
Dirty lakewater? Really? Okay theoretically it could work but I doubt it would be in one day!
I used to have a problem with chronic atheletes foot. Then I started soaking my feet in a bleach solution and it works almost immediately. If it started up again, I just used the bleach and after a few months it never came back.
It might be harder to penetrate a nail bed though.
Also on a slightly related note I discovered that itraconozole, an antifungal for nail fungus is also being used for chemotherapy in several cancers such as basal cell carcinoma. So if your a prepper, you might want to invest in some.
The thing that was obvious about the lake water was that the organisms broke down the tissue under the na that have been infested with the fungus. This it got in there and there was no place for the fungus to remain hidden. That is something bleach and all the other remedies couldn't do.
I think that is what made the difference.
Yes it really did clear out the fungus in one day. It wasn't healed. But the fungus was clearly gone. There was green scum algae 9r something in its place. That quickly died off Ina day just leaving the time to grow out the nail.
Not to scare you but if something is weird and bleeding all the time you need to get it checked for cancer right away. Constant bleeding is a big cancer sign. Normal weird shit doesn't keep bleeding
Mix apple cider vinegar with water and rub it all over the itch. It will sting, but the itch will be gone almost instantly. Repeat as needed. You can use the vinegar raw too, if you can take the sting. Best to start a little diluted.
You can soak your clothes in this too, will get rid of the fungus in your sweaty underwear. Safer is to just ditch the underwear, or don't sit sweaty in them any more.
