Yesterday, got a tire patched while I was waiting. In comes some lady holding a shredded belt in her left hand and a brand new belt in her right. Wants to know if theyll put the new alternator belt on without turning off the car, which is still running in the parking lot. Guy says, we can do it if you turn your car off. She is adamant. No way! I barely got it started last time, if I turn it off I know it won't start again. Guy states that there won't be anybody who can do this without turning the car off and it should fix the problem. She asks him to check with the other guys in the back if anyone will try to do it with the car running. He comes back and now the whole back shop is collectively laughing. Mind you, this is a tire place. Apparently nice enough to throw a belt on out of kindness but its going to waste on this retard who doesnt know what a low battery sounds like. I left before I found out how that ended.

lol that reminds me of that video where a bunch of women were occuping 2 lanes pulling their cars by the jumper cable (which they used to get the AC in on of them going) and when confronted that its unsafe only kept saying "I have a boyfriend".

Reminds me of the time I was out and passed a couple of women in a parking lot with the hood up pouring water over the engine.
I could hear them discussing whether this would help stop the overheating.

I was spraying the car off and some sprayed into the radiator grille and steam came out. I stopped immediately because I don't want a cracked radiator.

No kidding, especially with everything having all kinds of plastic in critical parts.
I'm still amazed that plastic petcock on my truck's radiator has held up to all these years and use; every time, I keep expecting it to bust off and leave me with some crazy-ass repair.

I busted my radiator in a blizzard and could only go 2 miles at a time before overheating took hold. Yeah I fucking threw snow over the engine block fuck you. 20 mile trip took like 5 hours.

its fine, had it rebuilt under warranty a year later for another reason and RO didn't mention any issues. Good point though I didn't think of it at the time, was more worried about freezing to death. roadside assistance wanted me to wait 48 hours, in a fucking blizzard, in a car that can't run engine for heat, cocksuckers.

I do have an emergency winter kit, tow straps, gun, flare gun, flares, food, water, Russian military winter gear. I'll still freeze overnight in a fucking blizzard if I can't run my engine.

Poor heat transfer, overheat the engine, perish the radiator hoses and foul the head gasket. The worst case scenario cracks in the engine block if it's an older cast iron block, damaged cylinder heads causing loss of compression and reduced performance before ultimately failing.
