I know women are brainwashed to think being property is bad, but I think also underneath that many of them don't like the idea because as property, they wouldn't be worth shit.

Just because women were officially property, that didn't mean they weren't loved. Actually, for the most part, that meant they were expected to be responsible and maintain their worth. Yes, they had shitty situations with abusive men and all that, but they've got the same shit going on today. There are women who were considered property and treated better than the free, independent women of today.
