The only reason I would buy a modern console is to use it as a blu-ray player.

i kinda track him online and i found him in some obscure elderly forum.could have been him or not. i know he was from portland.

i also recall xenios for some reason. too bad that the whole forum went to hell with the old voat. i truly miss it though

I don't think he's talkjng about the same Atari you're thinking of. While the Atari 2600 had an 8-bit chip, it was restricted to 5, but in practice was 4. There are articles that can explain it better than me. Atari did have a line of true 8-bit computers and even a failed console with the 5200. The games were honestly pretty trash on all of them.

SNES was the peak of "oldschool" consoles, and sixth gen was the last of traditional consoles as we knew them. Everything newer is an idiot box.
