The problem with farming - is that market driven forces have resulted in totally unsustainable practices.

It's also reduced farm margins to near zero.

A big shift needs to happen - farmers will be unable to take the economic hit required - this is why big money philanthropists are stepping in.

Government subsidies and price controls are actually mechanisms designed to slow down the race to the bottom that farmers are trapped in.

Unfortunately it's little more than a plaster on a serious wound and was never going to work as a permanent solution.

Compare how much a farmer NEEDS to produce to break even today Vs 20/30/40 years ago.

The problem is we've got to a point where the farming is unsustainable, to break even.

It's not the farmers who are benefiting - or the people - but the ((middle men)).

WEF plans to cut them out. No more getting fat from the labours of others on the land
