It's nice that you can, I don't think I would. It screams something that I personally don't want to be associated with. We're it a handgun in an exposed OWB holster.....okay, cool, you just didn't want to disarm to go into the bank. But a more or less SBR strapped to your chest says "I dare you to challenge me and I want to make problems."

Just my point of view.

Fair enough. It's Ookla-homo though, nobody is robbing much unless you're in OK city or Tulsa. You should catch that guy on youtube that rounds up the whores and tries to turn them around. He got tired of them selling ass out in the open and was on a personal crusade to shut that shit down. It's kind of funny, kinda sad.

Yeah, I prefer the element of suprise over the "I'm taking a stand and will totally post online about it later thinking anonymous strangers will metaphorically jerk me off with praise... What are you going to do about it?" approach. I get it tho, I remember open carrying 15 years ago when I first got my ccl. Then realizing how stupid it is.

Open carry is fairly common where I live.

Not as cool as OP's bank story and I recall going to a local Wal Mart and seeing an A-frame sign set out next to the greeter asking folks not to carry guns into the store along with some other rules.

Dude walks up to greeter, clearly openly carrying. "Hey Gary!" he says. Greeter replies "Hey Bob." and no mention of the pistol. Dude just kept on going.

I personally wouldn't let anyone working at a bank hold my weapon.

Open carry has always been legal in Wyoming, dad sold insurance and the first of the month was always a busy week with lots of cash. It was 2 blocks between his office and the bank, and it was NOT uncommon to see him walking with his 1911 on hip and a shotgun over the shoulder with the money bag under arm. Right down main street and in through the front doors of the bank.

It was a non-event.

I used to open carry a lot without fuss (pistol). I'm not in it to call attention to myself though, so I'm not doing it with anything other than a pistol and I've long since gone to conceal only (grey man mentality).

On a related note, I gave a demonstration of 10m air rifle shooting (think Olympics) for a high school speech project. Set up the target and backstop in the hall and shot in the school.... but I'm old, and grew up in Wyoming

Remember when you weren't allowed to wear masks or motorcycle helmets inside banks and then they said you can't come in without a mask?
