Because a priest would be excommunicated for doing anything like that. Priests have faced prison and death for maintaining the confessional seal in the past. Also, no penance would ever involve confessing your sins to any lay people outside the confessional, that would be absurd. Even if you confess to something like murder where the priest cannot himself provide absolution the petition to church authorities for your absolution cannot mention your name or provide any identifying information. But that couple of millennia of tradition was abandoned because some woman (read:sexually frustrated, overweight redditor desperately seeking attention) had a roll in the hay with a stranger? It is obviously fake. And gay.

IF this is true (and it likely isn’t) then both the bitch gets what she deserves AND the priest should be strung up.

Confessional is absolutely private between you and God. The priest is duty-bound to maintain secrecy even in the most dire of circumstances. The priest in this case deserves pretty severe punishment.

But then, females shouldn’t be allowed any favors from God or the Church so maybe all is well in this case.

yes the bible tells us to confess our sins to each other but it never says that we must do it to a priest. the catholic church has added stuff to itself that the first christians never ever practiced

Doesn't matter. He represents that faith and the congregants are taught from childhood that they're talking directly to God in confession. She had an absolute expectation of privacy and he violated both her privacy and her faith. He should be strung up for violating the sanctity of the confessional.
