Yeah, I use my own DNS server that directly contacts a root server for anything not in the cache, but if this is a supposed routing block, Comcast doesn't seem to be participating or routing traffic through anyone who does.

You can keep your ISP from knowing you are using Tor. It's called bridges. If you go to torproject.com you can pick it up from there.

Those links don't work for me in Brave in Tor window

Actually most onion links aren't working for me in Brave Tor. It has worked in the past. What makes Tor get all kinds of "timed out" and permanently moved messages?

I've run into similar issues in the past. I don't think brave is that reliable at doing the whole onion thing.

Edit: I'm not on a computer with tor on it, but I ssh'd into a server with it and I tried it with torsocks and wget and couldn't get it... so there might be something wrong with the address. Still that's also more potentially more finicky than using tor-browser.

Something needs to be changed in the settings to reliably open onion links. I can't recall offhand what the exact setting is. Ping me back and I'll check when my computer is handy.

I believe going into Privacy & Security in settings, then enabling Private window with Tor and Automatically redirect .onion sites got it working for me. Apologies for the delay.

It's semi-reliable. You have to include an http headers or a <meta http-equiv> in your code for brave to pick up on there being an onion site to go to.

So if they shut down the main site and you don't record the onion there will be no response from clearnet telling you where to go.

So you need to bookmark your onions.

I had more luck with kiwifarms.net than tor today

Clearweb was fast. Onion didn't work at all.

This is from ATT fiber and Verizon mobile. No VPN
