At my old apartment during the Spring and Summer, there was a retarded bird that would wake up at 3:30 AM almost every day and sing incessantly. It was the only bird doing this because all the other normal birds were sleeping until slightly before sunrise. I was thinking of getting a BB gun just to kill it.

I make fake snakes out of garden hoses and all strips of old bike tires for my gardens and it really helps!

I don't mind them. I find the Rainbow Lorrikeets a pain in the butt 'cos they are smart and very aggressive and drive off the much larger but more good natured King Parrots.

This is the first piece of bad press directed at Rainbow Lorikeets I have run into, I have never seen them exhibit aggression unlike some Blue Rosellas that lived around here - I haven't seen them for a while - that were highly aggressive toward the Spotted Turtledoves, which similarly haven't been seen in yrs, yesterday when I was looking upwards to get shots of the same Miner birds above I spotted a King Parrot up in one of the trees, there's been a few Sulphur Breasted Cockatoos and maybe a few Corellas lately also .. cheers.
