Getting rid of disposable lighters is something I can get behind. I want my straws though. Paper straws are bullshit and no one want ice cold potentially lethal metal straws. If they were serious about reducing plastic waste they would look into medical supplies. I might never have expected anything as wasteful as the medical industry if I had not seen it first.

Most garbage is plastic nappies filled with horrible chemicals. There are paper/wood pulp/bamboo disposable nappies which are very good, as are cotton, hemp and bamboo reusable (Easy to use Modern Cloth Nappies) paired with a wool cover. But no, ban plastic straws and give us terrible paper ones that go soggy in two sips and wood cutlery that tastes like shit and feels awful. Oh and they also ban thin free plastic bags but thick 10cent ones and $1-$3 thick plastic calico are fine. My local independent grocer used to give out thin biodegradable shopping bags for free but now charges for thick, not-biodegradable plastic ones.
In other news, UK demands 12 more booster shots that now come in a triplicate and before each shot given everyone in the hospital has to change their mask and gloves.
