The general BS we're dealing with is like a cancerous tumor that has been ignored for so long it's grown to the point that removing it would kill the patient anyways.

Thus we sit here waiting for the inevitable to happen so we can finally move on. Just a thought I had driving around this morning.

The smart kids, instead of trying to save the patient (who deserves to die anyways...), are getting ahead by recognizing what's going to happen and living their lives getting ready for that. Get out of debt, become as self-reliant as possible, and get out of the way of a crumbling society.

I actually think it's going to be an amazing time to be alive in the near future.

In other words- who is John Galt?

Basically, yeah...We are John Galt.

But it's not enough to just leave the failing society, we must build our own at the same time.

Would kill the patient

Your terms are acceptable.

We're worms on a corpse that is still twitching. The good news is worms do quite well in corpses, eventually.

The patient IS cancer at this point. It's not just the US that adopted cancer as our 'growth model'. We went from sustainable/survivable population numbers to a massive malignant tumor of humanity awhile back.

"But the whole worlds population could fit inside Texas"

Fine. Take them all, but no extra water, food, or resources. And keep the waste inside state lines.

Already well over a billion by 1850. 2.5 billion by 1950, when we metastasized and swelled up into the giant cancerous zit we are today. We can't self-regulate, so this is going to be painful.
