I have regular conversations with my teenaged son about exactly this. He confirms OP's point. And ya, when you talk to people, it's all right there. So many have lost hope and so many younger people don't even know what to hope for.

We need another paragon of goodness in our lives. (And although I know Jesus is a great paragon, He doesn't exactly speak in modern terms to our younger generations.) Honestly, another Hitler would be fantastic for our current American youth and those who have lost hope. I want to see someone achieving happiness and peace and PROSPERITY. I want a good example I can point to for others.

I have achieved prosperity, but I am no longer happy and I am not at peace. And that is because I have lost a lot of hope. I don't want my son to turn out like me in this regard.

I think our technology internet and social media is turning every one into narrcisiet and don't just think of narricist in the old grandiose way. There are a variety some covert some overt some psychos...

That being said a good description of a narrisit is the face they show the hidden inner child and the demon behind the scenes.
