They keep coming up with excuses why we should forego pets when the fact is they just want to eliminate something else that makes existence just a little less dreary and miserable.
Because inflicting misery on humanity is their only true goal (even power is just a means to that end.)

Funnily this actually happened due mainly to superstition during the plague in Europe. People thought cats were bad luck and so many blamed them for the seemingly unstoppable spread of the Black Death. This ultimately resulted in the pope of the time issuing a papal bull instructing people to kill cats, and a great many did just that. So to control a disease that was being spread by rats people slaughtered the rats’ primary predator in the region. Glad we’ve moved on from such stupid and superstitious times as a species I must admit. Now, where did I leave that face mask...

I’ve heard this before, I believe it. Plague fleas can ride around on a rat, and a cat, and anything else till they get to a human and infect them. It was noticed that households with a cat were being decimated by plague. I think their house cats were doing their jobs, killing rats, picking up plague fleas, then being let into homes to infect the household. Rats and cats got thrown under the bus.

TRUE STORY...years ago I and a couple buddies would go to the country landfill, usually Saturday evenings, armed with a 12guage shotgun (SSG/00BUCK) and
.22 mag, and shoot every fucking toxoplasmosis monster feline we could get our sights on....I miss those days.
