Yeah. I believe in jury nullification, which is why it's important to serve.

In my area, the Juries I've been on seem to just be a bunch of white people deciding the fate of Mexicans. That's way more valuable for cleaning up society than anything else I can do on those couple days.

I know more then a few people who have blown off jury duty. They were neither charged or fined. I think it's largely a factor of where you live, in many places they simply don't care.

If you're not signing for the notification, how do they know you were notified? I found one in old unopened mail a few months later. That was the last one I've seen in 10 years.

It's to spread the meme that "the right is always looking to get out of jury duty. Thats why so few end up serving!"
