Since you mentioned it... it seems a big part of the issue is demographic as far as what i understood from a few anons.

Euro jews which make up the bulk of the lefty talmudists are against the reforms announced which would make supreme court judges political appointees (à la USA) instead of inbred appointees put in place by fellow judges which are all leftists. No constitution in israel, its all talmudic rule.
