Water finds it's level, the earth is not spinning at 1000 miles per hour, the earth isn't moving at 66,600 miles per hour.

The horizon is level and isn't geometric.

The sun and moon are the same size

The celestial luminaries above us, rotate around us.

This is all common sense, none of the heliocentric model makes any sense and must be programmed into people.

Hitler himself warned of this exact sort of thing. He didn't use a coarse meme obviously, it's in his book. Fairly early in IIRC.

He talked of people who would not, could not, synthesize information. That they would always point to some book or authority instead of using logic and argumentation to get their own ideas worked out.

I think it's a key difference in this, and many many other wars.
