Titus Pullo was one of my all time favorite fictional characters. I can't think of anyone who could have played him as well.
Solid, stable and durable. Often practical, but sometimes foolish, and loyal to a fault.
Lucius Vorenus was the icon of the honorable man that I tried to become as I got older. He was Pullo's conscience.
But Pullo was my default setting.

Pullo and Vorenus were not fiction. Caesar mentioned them in his writing.

Being "mentioned in dispatches" does not a scripted character make. If it's played on HBO, it's a "fictional character".

Yea, I read about his death today. I can't say I'm surprised, but his death was unexpected. Big guy, I liked the roles he played. I figured he'd be around a bit longer.

Dead at 58? That's a given. Guy's an absolute unit. I figured he'd be more perceptive, probably was, but he wanted to be an actor.
