No doubt, and I'm sure the media would have no problem with a headline like that. But it's definitely presented as real, not just a meme. I looked into the pic before sharing it, but I guarantee someone shared this thinking it was actually true, and now they look like a jackass.
In today's gotcha culture, it only takes being tricked once to invalidate the previous thousand times you were right. It would be nice if there were a more subtle way to signal satire than an ifunny watermark when Poe's Law strikes yet again.
