I had the same problem. I found a workaround. I keep catbox.moe open in one tab.
I always open catbox links in a new tab. Any time a catbox link fails to open, and gives me that same error message, I just refresh the catbox.moe home page, and then refresh the link, and it opens.
Don't know why though. FWIW, I'm currently using Brave as a browser, but I had the same error happen with other browsers too. I think it might be cookie related.
