After planting seeds you'll want to cover them with weight and darkness for 2-3 days. This method rapidly increases the root system and size of the sprouts and is commonly used in micro green operations.

There are variations of 1 day weight and dark, followed by 2 days dark before exposure to light.

I'm also a big fan of no till, as tilling the Earth is for retards. It takes years to develop a healthy soil system however the results are well worth the initial slight crop loss.

you stopped researching too soon...look into the difference between using iron tools in soil and copper/brass/bronze tools
