The flavors in Coke are Vanilla, Chocolate and lime juice.

If you mix these together and you use carbonated water and a sweetener of your choice you will get flavor of coca-cola.

If you think about it the origin of Coca-Cola which was made at a bar for kids who couldn't drink liquor and these are the flavors that the bar would have had.

It's all about the proportions of the chocolate and the vanilla and the lime.

If you want to get closer to what the original probably tasted like you want to use something like Rose's lime which is lime juice in a sugar syrup.

Of course if you want to make a sugarless Coke you're free to use whatever sugarless substitute you want instead of the aspartame which they all stick in diet coke.

The carbon dioxide in the carbonated water adds an acidic taste which is essential. Otherwise it will taste both flat and also sort of goey on the tongue

If you're missing the metallic bite from a Coke which is that sort of metallic aftertaste that really stimulates your tongue that's actually the flavor of caffeine.

You can no longer buy caffeine powder in bulk because it's too easy to kill yourself (over 200mg can start to give you heart palpitations) but you can buy capsules of caffeine powder of about 100 mg or 50 mg each and you can just break open the capsules and put some in the Coke and that will give it that slight metallic taste that you taste in a real coke. Plus of course the lift.

You cannot use seltzer water and you have to be careful of soda water because a lot of those have salts in them and you don't want the salt flavor. it'll screw up the taste of the coke.

The best is to use distilled water and get yourself one of those fizzy water makers.

If you experiment with the ratio of the chocolate and the vanilla and the lime you'll get it. For the chocolate I recommend using actual raw cocoa powder. You don't want any pre-sweetened and you don't want to use chocolate syrup because then you won't be able to adjust the sweetener yourself. Use real vanilla extract and use real lime juice or like I said use roses lime.

Interesting.

Do you happen to know anything about the flavor of Kola nuts, which are purported to be an ingredient in the original formula?

I permit the possibility that the combination that OP has suggested is a close facsimile and, lacking first-hand experience with the ingredient, I would be very interested to learn whether or not the Kola nut actually contributes to the flavor.

Kola nut is citrus tasting, hence the lime.

Well people do become desensitized to it but there's a reason people die from drinking too many energy drinks. Literally the reason they stopped selling bulk bags of powdered caffeine on Amazon was it was way too easy to dump a spoonful of it into something and kill yourself. That's why now they only sell measured capsules so you know what the hell you're taking.

A medium Starbucks coffee has 200 mg in it and most people who drink more than 200 mg in a short period of time will start to experience the shakes in their hands. They can also start to experience heart palpitations. Once you go over that you start getting into pretty risky territory but of course a lot of people get accustomed to caffeine and pound two three four cups a day of starbucks. But if you're not used to it just like any other stimulant you can cause yourself real problems. Now normal cup of coffee would have 25 to 50 mg in it. Starbucks probably ads caffeine to their roast to give you the drug that all Jews like the Jew that owns Starbucks makes their money from. Jews have always been drug pushers.

Anyway look it up and you'll see the 200 mg is where people start to have issues.

And if you read the side of the can it usually says "Servings: 2". IOW, "If you drink all of this shit all at once, it's on you m8."

Diet Pepsi from the fountain does not contain aspartame. It's sweetened with sucralose, instead. I'm not saying that's any better, but aspartame absolutely ruins the taste of canned Diet Pepsi. A couple years ago they sweetened the cans of Diet Pepsi with sucralose, but then they switched back to the clear and obvious poison that is aspartame. I can absolutely taste the difference.

Hm. Cocoa powder doesn't mix in water. You'd have to heat it.

It's actually cilantro with the lime that gives a cola flavor.

Honeycaramel(honey simmered)
Carbonated water
Cilantro with a citrus

This makes a decent cola.
