Has anyone done anything fun lately?

Life is short.

It's all well and good to point out the serious problems but what does it matter if you aren't doing something fun while you have freedom?

I know I'm going to get shit on. But I went to the beartaria times festival. I have never heard the word nigger so much maybe faggot was second most used word. Met a woman who named the jew maybe as much or more then me. I have her number I need to get her on voat.

Tried skeet shooting this summer and it was really fun. A nice change from just shooting pistols.

I harvested my first batch of home grown tomatoes two weeks ago. Fist time growing them so it was also good fun.

Well, over the past month I've been practicing deploying my Ti-Lite both with the thumb-stud and from my pocket. After receiving it, I wasn't so sure about it, but I really like it now. I've had an interest in it since it came out, but I could never justify the price. When it went on sale for 50% off, I knew it was time.

This question should be posed on a monthly basis. How many times do you see "fun" in the title of a post around here?

The closest I have to fun is riding my kickscooter. It's a bit odd I enjoy it so much but I see footpaths in a different light these days. The contours, the cracks and crevices.The high parts and the low. I'm starting to ramble but what's new...kickscooting is a bit like surfing...not much happens...and then you get a ride. Bit of a thrill.

Been fishing most weekends lately, and went dove hunting yesterday morning. Going again this evening. Going skeet shooting later this month with colleagues.

Once I started boozing in my 20s, I stopped hunting and fishing. That was dumb. Outdoor sports are way more fun and fulfilling.

I've started experimenting with building my own high voltage capacitors for some projects of mine. So, that's pretty neat. I need to make some pretty high spec ones because the special ones that I used before for my project were able to output up to somewhere around 5kv and 31,0000 amps at 1mF each. These home built ones are probably going to end up a lot bigger physically for the same specs. I'm hoping that will yield some improvements in thermals. My capacitor array may end up about the size of a fridge by the looks of it. It has to output about 400,000 amp pulses. I may need a more exotic dielectric, but I'm using simple PET plastic sheets right now. This will be a modular power bank that I can hook up to any of my high power experiments and creations, capable of outputting up to 2 billion watts of power in a short pulse :)

I don’t seek “fun”. In fact, the people I know who constantly do, are usually broke, they rent, they have no goals, live paycheck to paycheck, etc. fun to me is executing plans that develop results that include wealth gain and business growth. That’s what I spend my time on.

I began dealing with my rat problem with a live trap, and it was working so well I bought two more. Multiple times I scored two rats in a single live trap. After about 20 trips of driving three loaded traps a few miles away to release them, I had had enough. I wasn’t putting a dent in their ranks. I bought a 5 gallon bucket filled with rat poison. If you ever intend to poison a large rat population, a chunk of poison about the size of a standard brick will be plenty. I have a lot of poison left over.

I have had great luck with live traps, only they don't stay alive after I catch them.

I'll take the whole trap, mice and all, drop it in a garbage bag and set it in a deep freezer.

After I dump the little mouse-cicles out, I reset the trap.

Back before we got sane normal cats who actually do their jobs I'd have to catch an errant rodent squatter from time to time. Gave me a god excuse to hop in the roadster and give it a ride down to a nearby nature preserve [which incidentally had some fun windy roads] and let it go out there where it could be more useful as part of the circle of life and all that.

I live by this forest preserve. It has awesome hiking trails, a creek that runs through it, and a hidden lake. I take my pup there for long hikes. It’s really enjoyable because he gets so excited before we go and he has a smile on his face while we’re there. The only people who go there are white, so whenever we run into someone, pleasantries are exchanged.

I was thinking about that a while back and figured I needed a fun project to keep me busy in my off time.

I'm also weary of an impending market crash, Michael Burry (called the 2008 crash) & professional actuaries are calling it now, maybe right before 2024.

So I bought myself a work truck, an old 1989 diesel, all mechanical, no computer, can run on anything from fryer oil to used tranny fluid. So the game is fix it up in the next few months & then have a work rig to be self sufficient work wise if need be. Soon I'll have a mobile mechanic/welding shop living in farmland.

Now that's what I call having fun! Fixing up and old beast and customizing the shit out of it. Bonus, it'll have a real purpose.

They've been doing it for too long, money is losing purchasing power every day at an exponential rate now.

Then you have OPEC (now aligning with BRICS), who've greatly cut their output & aren't done, raising the price of crude while North American governments have killed their oil industry.

BRICS is solidifying it's presence on the world stage and has grown enormously in the last few years, becoming a threat to the American monetary hegemony. Africa is in the process of a huge shift towards Russia (who've pardoned many loans lately) & China which is already involved in mineral & oil extraction on the continent.

The U.S. & Canada will go through a severe Weimar period, Europe as well.

Forced my family to go on a short hike around sunset. They all grumbled but once we were doing it and seeing how beautiful our surroundings were everyone got into it. We had some great conversations and the meal afterward tasted better than ever.

It's ironic how you need to force kids to do things sometimes, and then after they say it was just awesome :-)
I forced my kids to go skiing for the first time several years ago, and now they just can't wait to go every year.
Same with horse back riding.

Not stupid- the middle of the roll is the best part. We all know this. Well, nice little surprise is that a heart shaped roll has 2 middles! Genius.

Went fishing the other day. My wife taught our granddaughter how to put a worm on a hook. That granddaughter is almost 6. It's about time she learned how to bait her own hook.
