I ate nothing but egg white shakes for breakfast and lunch, and fish for dinner. Gave up beer. For the daily workout, I cut down large dead trees on my property. Diced them up, split it, hauled 100’s of tons of wood on a sled. I saw great results in just 6 weeks. Got the egg whites from egg white international.
It was the best shape I had ever been in. I was 40. I vowed to maintain it. That was ten years ago and I look like shit again. Don’t throw your old cloths away.
These will all add muscle tone, depending on the type you want. If you’re a skinny fat then you probably need to look at your diet. You’re probably consuming way to much sugar and have high insulin resistance. High insulin resistance actually causes your body to breakdown muscle. Cut carbs, eat meat and veg.

You’re a skinny fat, you do.
They truthfully may actually not be consuming much sugar at all if the majority of the carbohydrates they are consuming are fiber and starches.
Excess carbohydrates are converted into sugars to be used in your body, and those excess sugars are what get converted into fat to be stored in the body.
Which is where everything else you said about the insulin resistance comes in. (yes I know you already said 'cut carbs', but the why is what I'm explaining, because of the last line, declaring that he does eat too much sugar, because he might not.
I don’t disagree, you have a valid point about carbs. However, 90% of the population consume too much sugar. There’s tons of stealth sugar in everything. Goy slop is packed with corn syrup. Realistically OP is consuming both too many carbs and too many sugars.
You are right that both are probably likely, especially if they haven't already made that effort to get sugar (HFCS' specifically) out of their consumed foods.
If it keeps you from eating as much, then yes, it works.
But really all it is, is this:
Calories in, calories out.
It's that simple.
In February I weighed 181. Had a sort of muscley skinny but a bit of chub look going. Not quite what I'd call skinnyfat.
Now, or really as of about two weeks ago, I weigh(ed) 162. With winter coming in, I'm actually eating more and getting off the cut which was really a big experiment for me. So, now, I'm eating more and generally sit around the 165-168 mark.
You want muscle as fast as possible? Train a lot. I made a post awhile ago talking about Mike Mentzer and his high intensity training ideas, but personally I've found that they just don't work for me. The past, oh, three months I've been following it and it just does not work for me.
I'm jumping into the opposite for the next, say, 4 months. Volume training. Five to six days a week.
Even at this first week, I'm tired but I feel pretty good. Way I see it, just listen to your body and if you feel truly recovered, get in there and move heavy things for 30 minutes to an hour.
My point behind talking about all this exercise business is that if you weight train while cutting, you will retain muscle and, should you ever eat over maintenance calories, that extra will go toward building muscle rather than fat.
So, have fun. Eat like a pig if you want, just watch your calories and get enough protein. 1g per pound of bodyweight. It's fine to have less, sure, but that's the ideal. Have fun.
Intermittent fasting, but you have to know the real fat starts to burn only after 16 hours of fasting! if you not fast that long, nothing is done, you'd just feel tired and hungry. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/kOUCrNRd0dk Also lots of aerobic exercise, like swimming, running, bike, even walking. Nicest muscles for men come with house work, painting the walls etc, or exercises which mimic that. When I didn't have time for gym, I figured you can do aerobic in lots of small packages during whole day, like you'd be spending money: a bit here, a bit there, and is gone :D That works like magic and even better than daily half an hour or hour of exercise, hit the stairs where you can, all sorts of otherwise not necessary movements normally you would not do... on the end of the day that sums up.
oh one more thing: just avoid any processed food and protein drinks or similar artificial cockroach garbage, eggs, meat, fish and beans have enough proteins you need.

But basically it comes down to: find a workout routine thats fun. Find heatlhy food that you like. Sleep well.
yes, its that easy.
listen to the man. he appears in many shows. just listening to him makes you want to be a better person.
This is not good advice for a noob skinny fat. OP should concentrate on form and technique with high quality reps to establish a good base first. Whilst this kind of training can be beneficial for advanced trainers, its fucking dumb advice for beginners.
So what did I say was wrong. Yeah you'll get a big fast but there's a good chance you're going to get hurt doing it? Sorry for giving OP all the options he asked for Jack LaLane

if any answer is below 5, then you need weights to get to a safe and effective rep-range of 8 to 30.

Master your body weight before moving to weights.
You can't move you then weights are a waste of time.
