YouTube starts banning adblockers

submitted by Conspirologist to JewMedia 1.6 yearsOct 3, 2023 07:52:44 ago (+7/-6)     (JewMedia)

From today you have to disable adblockers to watch You Tube. Fuck YouTube.

P.S. I wrote to kike fuckers that their detection algorithm doesn't work well. It should buy us more time.

Still works on brave browser. If i want to listen to music I don't have on my phone I go to youtube on the browser and never see ads. Fuck jewtube though. I try not to use jewish platforms when I really don't have to.

The expansion of ads on YouTube in the last year or so has made watching YouTube feel like watching half-t.v. For a long time, you would have an ad at the beginning and maybe at the end of the video. Then it became two ads at the beginning. Now you get pairs of ads dashed intermittently throughout the videos - I don't know the extent to which creators have control over this, like if they opt in for moneitzation, if YouTube determines the "ad space" per given unit of time. But it's become really fucking annoying especially for somebody who uses YouTube for music playlists (I like a lot of the ambient playlists for background noise).

The ads don't respect the type of content whatsoever. You could have a song with a guitar solo, and the solo is interrupted by 40 seconds worth of ads before the song picks back up. It completely ruins the experience.

As of right now i can still watch youtube with adblocker. I assume it won't take long until adblockers figure out a way around it?

I don't think so. If a site blocks adblokers, they are useless.

There are filters out there for those. Get yourself some good lists, keep them up to date, and you'll rarely have a problem.

They could really cripple things with a blocker, e.g. not allow the main video to load until the full time of the ads has passed. So maybe you don't see the ad, but you're sitting there waiting 30 seconds or more for the video to load.

Can you elaborate? Are you saying I can bypass adblock ban sites?

Yes, but anti-adblock can be a pain depending on how it's implemented. I typically do it manually on a site by site basis.

There used to be a lot of filter lists for them, but most gave up the fight. Pretty sure that AAK is current.

Thanks, but I don't trust anything that's not on mainstream browser extension list. I'm not a programmer and can't use independent programs.

It's for said mainstream browser extensions. You run the script with a script manager like Greasemonkey and add the filter list to whatever adblocker you're using. It's not a separate program or extension; it's more or less parameters for your extensions.

Is there another work around? Or when the time comes, just stop watching youtube?

[ - ] Conspirologist [op] 1 point 1.6 yearsOct 3, 2023 10:11:27 ago (+2/-1)

Yes, we will have to use mirror sites.

[ - ] observation1 3 points 1.6 yearsOct 3, 2023 10:22:20 ago (+3/-0)

Should already be doing that

[ - ] Conspirologist [op] 3 points 1.6 yearsOct 3, 2023 10:25:34 ago (+5/-2)

The problem is only YouTube has a great UI design.

I've been seeing ads on videos, even with uBlock Origin. Have had to refresh the page sometimes to get the video to play.

[ - ] Conspirologist [op] 0 points 1.6 yearsOct 3, 2023 14:13:15 ago (+1/-1)

I just have to click on the pop up to end it. I keeps saying I have to switch off my adblocker.

[ - ] Jinglebanger 0 points 1.6 yearsOct 3, 2023 12:20:10 ago (+0/-0)

They've been doing this for like two years at least. But they can't figure out how to get around certain types of blockers without completely breaking everything.

The most successful I've personally see them be is to be able force ads, but with only the audio working. And it was patched within a few hours.
