After reading the reddit post, I can say honestly that they're both a couple of assholes. She's had years to realize that her boyfriend is a selfish child but refused to acknowledge it. They own a home together, although knowing womens' tendency to take low risk employment, she likely makes much less than he does. Basically, they're pretending to be married without the legal formality. They probably share finances, which she considers to be "theirs" rather than "some hers but mostly his".

She said she's going to discuss selling the house with an agent, although she'll need his agreement as a co-owner. He may buy out her share of the equity.
