I know that jpg is an inferior format for digital screenshots. A PNG will have a smaller file size and no lossyness on a digital screenshot of website stuff. A JPG will have shit quality and larger size. So yes JPG is an irrelevant format for taking digital screenshots. Its like saying I think slippers are irrelevant and then walking in a blizzard with slippers.

A jpeg is smaller for a photo. But when it comes to straight lines and angles a PNG can encode that information mathematically in full fidelity while a jpeg will never have that full fidelity and will have a higher size at max quality.
