Black Forest Cake is by far my favorite cake that is not ice cream cake. It is a German delicacy that was once very popular with the old Germans in the neighorhood I’m from (Ridgewood, Queens).

It's still made commonly in the Mid-West. Sold in many shops and restaurants, where it is sometimes slightly frozen. (which is amazing imho)

There are entire towns of majority German, Swiss, Norwegian, and Finnish people out here... and all of our traditions survive as well.
