My grandfather had a whole set of these when I was a kid . Flathead and Phillips heads, a bunch of sizes and all the drill bits. He had one that ratcheted sockets by pushing on it. I thought it was the coolest thing! .
His woodshop with early 1970s (I think) craftsman electric various saws, mills, and lathes still worked and looked perfect(ly) when he passed in the early 2000s. .His passion was building wooden toys for the local Children’s hospital. An Italian immigrant…. I loved watching him work when I was young. Im the only one of his many grandchildren that build/fix things with my hands. I thoroughly enjoy building /fabricating custom boats and doing high end repairs and paint jobs on nice shit like Yellowfin, Statement, and Freeman’s…

Many Kids these days are fucked…. It’s not their fault. It’s my peers’s fault- And the boomer parents that taught some of my peers to be dependent. My boomer parents taught us well. I thank God for it.

Had one a long time ago, hated it and got rid of it. I've got a good set of Snap-On screwdrevers but would like to get some old school wooden handle ones, just very low on list to do.

I have one of those, I guess it would do if the power is out. I have put a bit in a socket wrench before when headspace is an issue.

I love old tools like this. I bought a Model-T screw jack a few months ago at an antique shop just because it looks cool and might be useful some day. I can't find an authentic handle for it though. If the power is ever out for a long time people will need things like this.
